Perugia is a city in the middle of the Apennines. City is reached by RFI/Trenitalia - the national railway operator - and also by a private operator called UmbriaMobilitĂ .
On the UmbriaMobilitĂ network there is a small station in the heart of the city centre called Perugia Sant'Anna that is reached with a 5 km single track line with a gradient of 60 x 1000 (the most diffult climb of entire Italy without rack!).
